Baden-Württemberg & Jiangsu Investment Promotion Exchange Successfully Concludes
The Baden-Württemberg & Jiangsu Investment Promotion Exchange, co-organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg, Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Baden-Württemberg International, and the Baden-Württemberg Representative Office in China, was successfully held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Nanjing on September 25, 2024. This event marked the next phase of the 30-year-long partnership and cooperation between the two regions. Political and business leaders from Baden-Württemberg and Jiangsu gathered to explore investment opportunities and the future direction of their cooperation.
The event was hosted by the Baden-Württemberg Representative Office in China. The meeting featured keynote speeches from Mrs. Köpf-Schuler, Director of the Department of SME Policy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg, and Ms. Zhou Xiaolin, Second-Level Inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
Mrs. Köpf-Schuler provided an in-depth overview of Baden-Württemberg’s investment environment, emphasizing that the state has attracted over 300 Chinese companies, with dozens coming from Jiangsu. This underscores Baden-Württemberg’s openness and welcoming attitude towards Chinese businesses.
Ms. Zhou Xiaolin, in turn, reviewed the history of collaboration between the two regions and encouraged Jiangsu companies to actively engage in global market development. She also reminded enterprises to prioritize cultural integration and legal compliance as they expand internationally.
During the event, Mr. Lukas Ammer, Director of Business and Investor Services at Baden-Württemberg International, introduced the current industrial landscape and latest economic data of Baden-Württemberg. He highlighted that over one-eighth of Chinese companies investing in the state originate from Jiangsu.
Additionally, as representatives of Jiangsu companies already invested in Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Jing Wei, President of Yuwell Medical Deutschland GmbH, and Mr. Chu Yongyan, CEO of Chuhang Technology, shared their unique insights and experiences regarding the internationalization of businesses and intercultural collaboration.
Dr. Jing Wei, President of Yuwell Medical Germany, shared his experience in the integration of Chinese and German teams following a successful acquisition, as well as his perspectives on international investment.
Mr. Chu Yongyan, CEO of Chuhang Technology, provided an in-depth analysis of the risks and strategies for the automotive industry’s global expansion, offering valuable insights to the audience.
During the networking session, participants expressed strong interest in investing in Baden-Württemberg and actively engaged in discussions about potential collaborations. The atmosphere was lively, and several companies reached preliminary cooperation agreements on the spot. This event not only deepened the relationship between Baden-Württemberg and Jiangsu but also laid the groundwork for future cross-border business partnerships.
Looking ahead, the Baden-Württemberg Representative Office in China will continue to serve as a bridge, facilitating connections between investors from all regions of China.
