As in the field of circular economy, whether in terms of scientific research results or industrial production, the world is in the stage of exploration and early development. The first TRENT Sino-German Green Low-Carbon Circular Economy Webinar was held on Friday, November 26, 2021, 8:00-11:00 (Germany)/15:00-18:00 (China). This event is jointly organized with Jiangsu Low Carbon Development Project of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI).
In this workshop, we invited nine experts in different fields of circular economy from Germany and China, as well as 80 audiences from various industries, universities and authorities. In the meeting, German experts introduced the Communal Waste Management in Baden-Württemberg, the researches and efforts in the recycling and reuse of plastic waste, the harmless treatment and utilization of electric vehicle batteries, Ecological Development of Industrial Parks, as well as the urban sustainability. Chinese experts introduced details of the development status and approach of circular economy in China and Jiangsu, the upgrading of Industry Park in Jiang, and the system design of green buildings.
The participants were greatly interested in those presented topics. For example, the technology of plastic recycling attracted many companies, who have interest to get more contact with each other. Meantime, the research of End-of-life strategies for electric vehicle batteries at IIP was aroused great interest. Upgrading of Industry Park is the hot topic in Jiangsu and China.
This workshop brought a broad topic to audiences, who would like to have more detailed discussion with each other. In order to promote more exchanges and potential cooperation between Jiangsu Province and Baden-Württemberg in the field of circular economy, a questionnaire will be prepared and send around to all participants for their feedback. Meantime, we will hold the round tables with specific topics in 2022, and invite the relevant experts and industries to join in, for discussing more detailed and deep technological issues.
